Cityland Inc. and Anchor Land Holdings Inc., both top developers of condominiums in the Philippines, join Gawad Kalinga in building communities for our poor fellowmen as part of their socialized housing requirement with the Board of Investments (BOI).
The partnership of the Board of Investments (BOI) and Gawad Kalinga came about in 2011 when the BOI accredited GK as a conduit for the compliance of registered vertical housing developers to develop socialized housing. Through this scheme, developers can accomplish their socialized housing requirement with the BOI by directly contributing resources to GK to build decent homes for poor Filipino families. The two companies have responded to this call and have initiated partnerships with GK.
Last June 7, 2013 ten homes provided by Cityland, Inc. have been turned over to the beneficiaries of Trece Martirez City in Cavite. The company also contributed the 11.49 hectare land where the new community is being built. The property is designed to have around 500 families call it home, as well as community facilities such as a playground, multi-purpose hall, livelihood area, youth center and even a public school as a project of the local government.
