“Paying It Forward. I’ve witnessed this countless times in my work as a GK fulltime worker.

And every single time i do, my heart swells. Our GK residents from Keppel GK Village (Bauan, Batangas) and Las Vegas GK Village (Taal, Batangas) readily opened their hearts and homes to family evacuees from Brgy. Seiran, Taal and Agoncillo, Batangas who were deeply affected by the Taal volcanic eruption and ashfall. Very humbling. And very inspiring.

Update: Adding Shell GK Village (Libjo, Batangas) into the list of angel communities accepting 22 families (80+ individuals) - evacuees from Taal and Lemery.

The other day, my husband, Jose Mari, was getting stressed trying to search for my birthday gift. I said to him, “Luv, ayaw na ka-stress sa akong birthday gift. Ako man gani, i can’t think of what I want for my birthday! Ok na ‘yan.”. In the end, he did give me the best gift of all. Agreeing to be the Yayo for the day to the 3 kids while I am away.

"From the GK Head of Batangas, I received this report and am sharing it with all so all can see how spontaneous is the concern, support, and generosity of even the less fortunate towards the more urgently in need. For those who know GK’s traditionally-built communities, the houses are small, only 20 - 23 sqm. Yet, in Batangas, GK communities which are not as directly and adversely affected by the Taal volcano tremors and ash fall have open their hearts and homes to this forced to evacuate. It really does not take much material resources, but surely demands a caring and courageous hearts. If GK can do it, others can, too. And if we listen to all the wonderful stories these past days, the Filipino cares! “Hi Tito boy ,sa ngayon tinatanggap ng mga gk site natin sa Batangas Ang lahat ng gusto makituloy sa mga bahay yes maliit bahay pero malaki Ang mga puso para tanggapin sila at patuluyin. Gk keppel eco village at brgy inicbulan bats 50 mga and still counting. GK Las Vegas buli batangas 60 mga tao ang naroon and still counting.

GK shell at libjo Batangas 80 mga tao po and still counting naka coordinate po ito sa barangay and LGU. Ang team Batangas ay nagtutulong tulong para kahit paano makadagdag ng tulong upang mabigyan ng pagkain at inumin malinis.ang may sugat o galos nilalapatan ng first aid.

"Our GK Bauan Batangas is host to 36 families from another GK community from Malvar that were evacuated. We will be supporting them with food inventory for the next 10 days. I am sure that many others, some already reported with photos in social media, are going out of their way to help the adversely affected. This is the spirit of bayanihan. Disaster brings it out and my prayers are for bayanihan to be sustained even ordinary circumstances. #walangiwanan
