BE ON CALL

Gawad Kalinga works to unleash the potential and capacity of all individuals and organizations to participate in the great task of nation-building. Each one is equally important and has a unique role to play. Wherever you find yourself in this This is the spirit of “bayanihan” (collaboration and solidarity) that has fueled the work of Gawad Kalinga through the years.

Together, we can end poverty.

The time, talent, and treasure that you give will be multiplied because it will work in synergy with the contribution of other players in nation-building.

COUNTERPART 'SWEAT EQUITY' OF POOR FAMILIES

Volunteers work hand-in-hand with the beneficiaries themselves in building their homes. GK residents give 'sweat equity' for the construction of homes and community facilities so that there is a sense of ownership and unity. Since they work on the structures together, this also leads to sustainability, because the families build relationships with each another and take great efforts to maintain the structures that they worked hard for.

PRIVATE SECTOR FUNDS

The funds needed to build the community is typically contributed by the private sector, composed of corporations, civic groups, foundations, grant-giving bodies, families and individuals. For some partners, it becomes not just a matter of funding, but of sustained volunteerism usually led by their top management team. They not only give support to GK programs but also consistently champion the communities they helped build. They become not just donors but key stakeholders and committed partners to nation-building.

GOVERNMENT LAND AND SERVICES

The local government usually provides the secure land and the necessary services such as site development, access roads, electricity and water. The LGU also helps ensure that the chosen site is safe from natural calamities and cleared by the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

THE TRANSFORMATION OF COMMUNITIES can only happen when these sectors work hand-in-hand in the spirit of bayanihan. No matter what your contribution is, your act of caring and generosity can impact the lives of others and help in building this nation.
