Germany has been known for promoting human rights and is committed to reduce poverty through development programs. As Ambassador Gordon Kricke of Germany mentioned during the groundbreaking of GK Germany Village in Dasmariñas, Cavite, "This is important because it gives hope to 60 families. Good, decent homes and lives are not only for the rich but also for all. It is our basic human right," The land area of the new community is almost 4 hectares.

This project would not have taken place if not for the efforts of Dr. Peter Scheid and the GK Ateneo Team, who now serves as the project manager for all engagements of BMZ with Gawad Kalinga. One of the successful projects that this tripartite partnership has completed is the German Village within GK St. Joseph in Cabiao, Nueva Ecija.
