RBJP - Ancop Australia GK Village

Panganiban, Camarines Norte

Residents of Barangay Osmeña in Panganiban, Camarines not only had to deal with poverty and its crippling effects like malnutrition and sickness – they were also often victims of natural calamities such as landslides, floods and typhoons.

The vulnerability of their situation motivated the TEKTON Team of Camarines Norte to convert a donated piece of land in Barangay Osmeña into a Gawad Kalinga site. The dedication of the GK Team inspired partners from ANCOP Australia to fund the homes, and the community is now becoming a model for the province. The active partnership with local government and the private sector, as well as the empowerment of the GK residents have all contributed to the success of the community.  Due to its ideal location, the area is also being developed as an eco-tourism site where visitors can stay overnight
