"Taking off from Bantayan back to Cebu. Very productive visit. We will start rebuilding homes and around 200 bangkas next week. Our Christmas gift for them. Volunteers be ready because we need to turn it over before Christmas."

Some of the survivors from Tacloban was relocated in Cebu. Our GK Cebu volunteers went to the nearby evacuation center to conduct Paraisong Pambata as debriefing session for the children. Georgina Wilson, Isabel Daza and Ms. Gloria Diaz were also there bringing joy to the survivors of the typhoon.

Operation Walang Iwanan in Cebu started last October 17, 2 days after the earthquake hit Bohol. After a month, Operation Walang Iwanan is still activated for the victims of Typhoon Yolanda.

One of our teams was deployed in Sta. Fe, Bantayan for Paraisong Pambata.
They arrived safely at their destination and are very excited to bring joy to the children of Bantayan Island.
Walang Iwanan: Team GK Cebu visits several sites in Gairan Bogo.
"We arrived at noon on Sunday at a basketball court and you could tell that, despite the no-longer-familiar sites of a place so near and dear to our hearts, the spirit of the people remained as high as ever. Children were running around with the widest smiles on their faces as they yelled to one another, "Oy, gi picture-an ka ni ate o! smile kuno diha!" And as we left aboard a large truck, they waved goodbye and thanked us, and then I remembered the reasons why we do the things we do at Gawad Kalinga."

For the past few days, over a hundred Volunteers have been coming to relief operations to help. Even volunteers from the recent WALANG IWANAN for BOHOL are still helping in our relief operations now. This is a proof that there is a BAYANI in every Filipino.
Young and old, rich and poor, everyone is helping in each and every way they can to help the victims of Yolanda, assuring that no one will be left behind. WALANG IWANAN!
Hitting the road at 4:30 AM with 2 trucks to deliver relief packs to Malapascua Island, Cebu
"Bayanihan knows no bounds. Volunteers and students from different universities in Cebu took time from their daily schedule to help pack relief goods to be distributed to Leyte and Northern Cebu over the weekend."
Team GK Cebu distributed 1350 relief packs at Malapascua Island. The residents joined us in our bayanihan line to unload the goods from the banca to the basketball court.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!! GK CEBU IS NOW TARGETING TO PACK MORE THAN 10,000 relief packs for Ormoc and Leyte to be shipped by Friday.
For Tuesday up to Thursday, Repacking of relief goods will start at 1pm up to 10pm daily. MANpower are needed for loading of relief goods to the trucks on Tuesday and Thursday Night, and on Friday Morning.

Donations (in cash or in kind) are still very welcome. Relief goods composed of 2 Kilos of Rice, 4 canned goods, 3 noodles, 5 (coffee, milo, energen or a like) sachets and 3 Liters. We also encourage people to donate tarps, kitchen materials and Construction Materials as they are also needed by the Typhoon Victims.

So far, our last assessment for volunteer work:
For Monday, we will need volunteers for repacking from 3PM to 10PM. For Tuesday morning, we will need more MANPOWER for loading of goods to the truck that will deliver the goods to their destinations. There is no specific time yet. depending on the availability of the trucks.

Our 8,000 relief packs target is for Northern Cebu YET which are also greatly affected by the Super Typhoon Yolanda.

As of November 10, we are trying to raise 8000 relief packs for Northern Cebu and small Islands affected by the super typhoon. We are accepting donations (in cash or in kind). We are currently segregating your donations and repacking them in preparation for the upcoming distribution of food packs. Donations in kind or cash for food packs are highly appreciated. 1 food pack consists of 2 kgs of rice, 4 canned goods, 3 noodles, 5 sachets of cereal drinks, and 3L of water. We are also accepting clothes and tarpaulins for temporary roof covers. Help us raise at least 2,600 food packs which will be distributed to the families of the typhoon victims. You can drop your donations at the Old Sacred Heart School, General Maxilom Avenue near CIC main campus. We also welcome volunteers to help us in segregating and repacking the relief goods.
