GAWAD KALINGA ILIGAN OPERATION: WALANG IWANAN was the first in Bonbonon distributing relief goods to our Muslim communities, indigenous people and the farmers.
Created with flickr slideshow.
It was a great experience distributing relief goods to the flood victims of Bonbonon, Iligan City. The people and the Barangay very cooperative and the operations were very systematic. And all those who received were documented and profiled following our sustained relief operations. All of these through the guidance and under supervision of MINDANAO HK WORKERS FEDERATION, an organization of OFW in Hongkong. With us: Atty. Samof BPAP Davao, Maam Myrna of MHWF, Sir Bert of ICT Davao, Ladislao Capalla Tabanao Jr., Jenny P. Densing and the GK Volunteers.

The farmers, indigenous people and Maranaos in Brgy. Bonbonon, Digkilaan, Rogongon, Mandulog and in the hinterland Barangays of Iligan City who were victims of Sendong Typhoon, NEED HELP NOW. They barely received assistance. I was there this morning in Bonbonon and I talked with them and they shared their stories and their pleas for food. I was with the GK Team: Sis Ingrid Raposala and Brod. Keith Salise. Hopefully the road will be good tomorrow and we'll have vehicle so that we can distribute our relief goods to them.
