National University of Singapore Students volunteer to build houses in GK LGU Panabo, Datu Abdul, Panabo City, Davao del Norte. For the 19 volunteers of Singapore Red Cross, the scorching hot sun and boy/girl scout camping style living for 13 days did not stop them to help Pilipinos build a descent houses for the poor. Gawad Kalinga is grateful to NUS and SRC for sending their team to Davao!
It was their last day of Build Immersion in GK LGU Panabo City and their flight departure for Davao-Manila-Singapore was at 4:00 pm. They previously planned to go to Paradise Beach Resort in Samal Island early morning to have a good breakfast at the beach and enjoy swimming in the warm water of Davao Gulf. They also wanted to have a City Tour and have lunch at the newest Mall before they proceed to Davao Airport. But the GK Volunteers of the National University of Singapore decided to make their last day more meaningfull. Instead of spending their money for the rest and recreation, they decided to buy relief goods and distributed it to the Compostela Tent City typhoon Pablo victims.
