The Chain Reaction Project (TCRP) is a non-profit organization committed to be a catalyst for change in less developed countries. Driven by their passion for adventure and philanthropy, they look for organizations they can partner with to do activities that will benefit the less fortunate.

Last May 2 to 4, 2013, TCRP was able to achieve their mission yet again together with Gawad Kalinga, Playpoint, and KawayanTech. On those dates, they launched their project called Bike & Build and held it in Dr. Jose Rizal GK Village in Calamba, Laguna. People from different parts of the world were able to join this trip totaling to 23 participants. On the first day of the trip, the participants were challenged by a 5 kilometer bike ride with rough terrains and uphill roads using Bamboo bicycles made by KawayTech from Barangay Canlubang all the way to the GK site.

TCRP in partnership with Woh Hup, a construction company in Singapore, had already done a previous project in Dr. Jose Rizal GK Village by building 10 homes for 10 families. With this, they have already grown close to the community. They have seen that the playground in the site was already dilapidated and over used by the kids so they decided to partner with Playpoint to sponsor a playground and build it themselves, hence, the Bike & Build Project.

After the bike ride, the group started to assemble and build the playground and this went on until the second day. The goal was to finish the playground on the third day so that it can already be launched and turned over before they left the country. Because of the determination and hard work of the participants, KBs and the children alike, they were able to reach their goal and witness the joy and excitement of the kids. The Spirit of Bayanihan came out through each person who helped in building the playground.

The group invited Congressman Timmy Chipeco to be the guest of honor during the launching of the playground. During the ceremony, they also distributed donations such as clothes, bags, hats, and shoes to the Kapit-Bahayans. Finally, after the ribbon cutting, the kids literally went running towards the playground.

Everyone was excited, even the participants were excited to see the kids play. The visitors left the community feeling very much fulfilled and happy. They were truly catalysts for change and were able to leave a mark in the hearts of the children in Dr. Jose Rizal GK Village.
