If each of us takes part in caring and sharing, the overwhelming challenge of poverty can be addressed. Alone we can do so little, but together we can do so much.
BUILD A COMMUNITY
HAYDEE YORAC GK VILLAGE

Haydee Yorac GK Village is a 2-hectare relocation area in Brgy. Gahit, E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental. The 23 families residing in the village are mainly fisherfolks that used to squat in different haciendas in the town. During Typhoon Yolanda, 3 houses were greatly damaged as they lost their roofs and windows. 4 houses had minimal damage and their makeshift Multipurpose Hall (MPH) and chapel were damaged as well. They were better off than their neighbors whose houses were made of light materials.

Other areas in Negros Occidental were also badly damaged, especially the coastal barangays.

While the 23 families who live in the Haydee Yorac GK Village were slightly shaken by the extent of the damage and the strength of the storm, they were still better off than their neighbors, whose houses are just made of lighter materials. Other areas in Negros Occidental were also badly damaged, especially the coastal barangays.
