Poverty kills. Ten mothers die daily due to pregnancy and childbirth-related causes. In the Philippines alone, 6 out of 10 Filipinos will die without getting  any medical attention. Four million children are malnourished and 50% of the population have no access to health care. GK Kalusugan exists to uphold the right of the poor to live fully and well. GK Kalusugan, GK's community health program, empowers the poor to care for their health by teaching them proper nutrition and first aid. Some GK residents are trained to become health care volunteers who look after the well-being of their communities. With the help of dedicated partners and volunteers, medical care and attention can now be made available to GK residents.
Be a GK Healer and share the precious gift of good health. Help us restore the health of poor families and build stronger communities.  If you're a medical practitioner or simply cares for the health of the poor, your presence and contribution will go a long way in uplifting the lives of those who have been previously deprived of care.

GK Community Health believes that every Filipino has the right to good health, and ensures that community health care services are delivered to those that need it the most.  Volunteer doctors, nurses and medical practitioners here and abroad contribute to ensure that health profiles of GK residents are maintained, connect them to local health care centers and hospitals, and train Health Care Volunteers from among the residents who can help address the community’s own day-to-day health needs.

Typhoon Ondoy Medical Missions and Relief Operations by Papic Oliveros, MD Walking through the mud-streaked and rubble-strewn roads of Tatalon the afternoon after the typhoon hit and a fire destroyed houses of 440 families, my heart sank.  Signs of the magnitude of nature’s wrath were everywhere – broken jeepneys, plywood and aluminum from houses strewn everywhere, and people in dirty clothes milling around the streets, trying to pick up whatever’s left of their lives. A spirit of g... Read More
