How You Can Help
As environmental issues take center stage in the global arena, local action taking into account the country’s natural vulnerabilities has become urgent. In the onset of increasingly intense natural calamities in developing countries such as the Philippines, stakeholders are now looking at sounder environmental planning amidst natural hazards, varying degrees of exposure and the extreme vulnerability of the majority of the poor. Institutional partners are now reviewing existing GK communities and providing fresh funding to enhance them environmentally.
Templates for new GK communities have been developed to incorporate environmental principles. Volunteers are now going down to the different GK communities to support the implementation and management of the program.
You can help Green Kalinga by:
- Teaching the community proper waste segregation methods.
- Adopt a GK community and introduce green technologies such as rainwater catchers and solar powered facilities.
- Help integrate environmental practices in GK villages.
- Form a group and hold planting activities in a GK community.
- Sponsor green technologies to be implemented in GK communities with the help of GK residents for sustainability.
